2017 Ohio running back will camp at Kentucky

Could Morgan Ellison be a replacement at running back for Mike Warren at Kentucky?

Time will tell, but we know that it's possible.

Sources close to the Kentucky football program tell Cats Illustrated that Ellison is a player the Wildcats are looking at very closely.

He attends Pickerington Central in Ohio, and that's the same school attended by Class of 2016 Jack linebacker signee Jaylin Bannerman.

With only Bryant Koback on the commitment list for the 2017 class at running back there's been a question as to whether Kentucky would take a second player, following UK and Warren parting ways recently.

Ellison told Cats Illustrated on Saturday that the staff in Lexington is anxious to scout him in person.

"Coach (Mark) Stoops wants to see me at camp," Ellison said.

He doesn't have an offer yet, but with Warren no longer committed and with the Cats having more scholarships to play with than before, and more scholarships perhaps for 'best available' players, it's a golden opportunity for the Class of 2017 back.

Ellison added that Kentucky tight ends coach Vince Marrow has visited Pickerington Central and has been recruiting him as well.
