"The visit went real well," said Reigelsperger, who had messaged Cats Illustrated during the trip to say that everything was going "amazing."

"I sat and talked with Coach (Vince) Marrow and then we went and toured the facility. We looked at everything. They were just today putting grass down on the new Nutter place and they're almost done with that. We toured the stadium, toured the campus and talked to Coach (Mark) Stoops," Reigelsperger said.

Another highlight of the trip was the chance to meet up with former teammate Tobias Gilliam.

"Tobias was the first person, when I came in my freshman year, to take my under his wing," Reigelsperger said. "He wanted to make sure I knew what to do and what not to do and how to be a leader. How to be a teammate.

"Tobias can go from being super energetic and laughing to, well, when the second anything goes wrong he can get real serious. He can go from being your best friend to being the guy who needs to be an a------ leader," he said.

The two have a strong relationship and Gilliam has spent plenty of time with Reigelsperger every time the younger Wayne student-athlete has been in Lexington.

Marrow and Stoops made it clear they would like for Reigelsperger to be a part of their 2018 recruiting class.

Reigelsperger was measured at 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds on his trip to Kentucky on Wednesday.

While he plays defensive end for Wayne, where he will be a junior this fall, he said Kentucky is recruiting him to play the Jack linebacker position once famously manned by Bud Dupree, now of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"What I do now is play defensive end," he said. "But most schools, really any school that runs a defense like Kentucky, want met to play a position like (the Jack linebacker spot). Other schools like Pitt and Oregon want me to play a linebacker or a D-End position or whatever in third-and-long situations.

"I'm about 240 now so I think by the time my senior year comes around I can be a solid almost 260," he added.

Reigelsperger said recruiter Vince Marrow has been a key figure throughout his recruitment.

"I know Coach Marrow real well," he explained. "I love Coach Marrow. Coach Marrow's a funny, funny dude. He reminds me a lot of my head coach at Wayne. Some coaches who recruit you will lie to you just to get you to commit somewhere. Coach Marrow, he'll keep it real and tell you what you need to do. If Coach Marrow thinks Kentucky's not the best place for you then he'll tell you what he thinks. But he's been great."
